Showing at WatchTime New York 2016: Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel

As we count down to the second edition of WatchTime New York, America’s largest luxury watch show, at Manhattan’s Gotham Hall on October 14-15 (click here for event details and tickets), we continue to spotlight headliner watches from the exhibiting brands. Today we look at the Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel, a new model that debuted at Baselworld 2016.

Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel

At nearly 47 mm in case diameter, the Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel is larger and sportier-looking than most models in the Armin Strom collection. The case is in black PVD-treated stainless steel and water-resistant to 50 meters. It has sapphire crystals in the front and back, and a sloping bezel with a series of notched cutouts that add to the watch’s sporty look.

The watch is outfitted with Armin Strom’s manual-wind Caliber ARM16, which is 16 1/2 lignes (36.6 mm) in diameter and has a frequency of 18,000 vph. The front of the movement, which is surrounded on the dial side by a black outer ring with white hour indices and silver Arabic numerals, features two prominent crown wheels with eight spider-leg-like spokes (as seen on the movement photo below). The visible movement components have a cross-grinding finish that gives them an industrial look.

Overall, the movement is comprised of 194 parts, including an escape wheel and pallets made of gold.Armin Strom Caliber ARM16 - back

The Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel, which comes on a black alligator strap with black-PVD-treated steel ardillon buckle, is a limited edition of 100 pieces, priced at $24,900.
